Dra. Pilar Glez Romero

Dr. Pilar González Romero holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of La Laguna (1996-2002) with a Notable grade.

Doctoral Courses: During the 2003-2005 biennium, she was attached to the Department of Anatomy, Pathological Anatomy, and Histology. She obtained the DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in October 2005 with the work: “Actualización en Rizartrosis” (Update on Thumb Basal Joint Osteoarthritis), achieving an Outstanding grade.

MIR Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria (2003-2007).

Master’s Degree in Forensic, Judicial Medicine, and Damage Assessment at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (2019 – 2020).

University Expert in Criminalistics and Criminology in Medicine; University Expert in Accident Investigation in Medicine; University Expert in Damage Assessment in Forensic Judicial Medicine at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (2019 – 2020).

Member of the Lymphoedema Working Group of SERMEF (Spanish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation).

Training in FOREIGN CENTERS:

  • In 1999-2000, she completed her 4th year at the University of Rennes 1 in France, undertaking practical training at the CHR de Ponchaillou.
  • Rotations at hospitals affiliated with the University of Toronto during July and August 2001: St Michael’s Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, and Toronto Western Hospital.
  • External Rotation during the Specialization: FUNCTIONAL REEDUCATION UNIT OF THE SOS MAIN CENTER in Strasbourg (France), created by Dr. G. Foucher, under the supervision of Dr. N. Buch and Dr. S. Stutzman, between September and October 2006.

Dr. Pilar González Romero has been an Associate Physician at the University Hospital of Canarias from 2007 to the present, focusing her healthcare activity on Upper Extremity Rehabilitation and the Lymphoedema Unit.

  • Rehabilitative Physician at Dr Urquiza Rehabilitation Center (2007-2011).
  • Traffic Accident Consultations at Hospiten Rambla (2011 – present).
